Sometimes in this world of excess, it’s hard to convey to kids how lucky they are. That’s where The Compassion Experience comes in. This free interactive event teaches kids what life is like in in developing countries like Kenya, Uganda and the Dominican Republic. The 2,000-square-foot exhibit takes visitors into recreated homes, markets and schools. Honolulu Cookie Company is letting customers get into the chocolate-dipping process at a free Dipping Event 3-7 p.m. July 12 at the Beach Walk store on Lewers Street in Waikiki. Sounds like a good excuse to stop in for a treat on the way to the beach.
Most dinosaur events are a look but don’t touch affair. But the Jurassic Tour at the Hawai’i Convention Center July 7 and 8 encourages kids to see, touch and even ride the prehistoric animatronic beasts.
